    Supporting Evidence Based Practice

  • A critically appraised topic (or CAT) is a short summary of evidence on a specific question or topic. It provides a quick and succinct assessment of what is known (and not known) in the current scientific literature about a topic. It is essentially a shorter and less rigorous version of a systematic review that summarises the best available research evidence on the chosen topic.
