  • Keen to write?

We accept manuscripts about paramedic experiences, news stories, case studies, research, anecdotes, basically anything that is related to what we do, that is written well. Check out what support is available by clicking the Get Published button below, and check out our writing resource.

  • Shop with impact!

Not only does our merchandise look awesome, but every item sold provides funds to access medicine and clean water.

When nearly 80% of illness in low GDP countries is related to poor water quality and inadequate sanitation conditions, access to clean water is a vital first step in improving community health. And it is for this reason that we partner with Wise Medic to ensure that every one of our shirts sold here provides a person with access to clean water for up to a year!

We reckon that’s just another good reason to rock around in our gear!

  • Background

Regardless of their work environment, most paramedics and EMDs are unfortunately familiar with the rigors of shift extensions. From city and regional ambulance services to oil rigs, mine sites, film locations, events, and clinics, the very nature of paramedicine warrants working in unpredictable situations.

The Shift Extension is a brainchild of that time spent. A time when paramedics and EMDs are seeking something to read, reflect, write, share, listen or discuss. The Shift Extension aims to be a publishing place that Australasian-based paramedics and EMDs are encouraged to write, share, collaborate and learn from each other.
